Opinion essay David Galvezinho

VIOLENCE ON TV

In this essay I would like to talk about the influence of the TV in the violent way in
which can act in the lives of those who watch it. It is well known that, currently,
there are many TV programs or series in which violent circumstances appear but
can them really affect the mentality of those who watch them, highlighting the
teenagers who are the ones that can be most influenced? If they watched less TV,
would they be less violent?
Personally, I think that watching violent circumstances on television can influence in
a violent way in their lives, specially, in teenagers lives because many of them copy
things that happen on TV, so, consciously or unconsciously, they imitate what they
see on television. Furthermore, there are scientific studies that show that watching
violent episodes on television increases violence in those who watch it. Therefore, if
young people see less violence, they are less violent.
Nevertheless, I think it is good that sometimes teenagers watch violence on
television, so they can be taught what they should not do. Although, always in
moderation and with an adult to teach them and explain what they do not have to do.
In conclusion, that teenagers watch violent episodes on television increases their
way of acting and how violent they are, even so, sometimes it is good that they see
it in a way that they can be taught and to show them what not to do.
