Opinion Essay-Carlos Cervera
Nowadays,
is shown more violence in TV than in the past, in films, series or even in the
news. Many of the people who watch the TV every day are exposed to this aggressiveness.
So, are the teenagers who watch this violence more likely to be violent? People make
decisions based on their personal experience, both empirical and rational, so
it seems logical to say that the violence on TV creates violent people. However,
all of the people that say that TV causes violence tend to ignore the important
life experiences: A bad childhood with abusive parents or ones that don’t take
much care about you, loneliness, poor social relationships, etc. It’s also
true that this experiences makes us more likely to be influenced by the TV and
taking all we watch as an example to reproduce in real life. Therefore, the
problem comes from a lack of identity that is counteracted with the influence
of TV. It usually happens in USA on the tragic school killings. In
conclusion, I think TV is not the main problem, if the ones that I mentioned
decreased, the violence in the world would decrease too
