Nosedive-Michelle Prieto

Nosedive is the first episode of the third season of Black Mirror. It is a British series that was released in 2016, directed by Joe Wright. That episode belongs to science-fiction and it has a duration of 63 minutes.

The story takes place in another world where people has a qualification in a social media. The main character is Lacie Pound, a woman who has a 4.2 out of 5. The qualification is very important because gives you advantages to do different things. If you want to have access to a luxurious restaurant you must have a high qualification. One day Lacie receive a message of Naomi, her best friend of her childhood, inviting her to her wedding. Lacie has to move to another city to be at the ceremony. When she is at the airport ready for traveling the man of the control tells her she can’t travel because she doesn’t have the punctuation. At that moment Lacie starts to get angry and be rude with the people and her qualification continuous going down. If she doesn’t find another option of traveling, she will not arrive to the wedding. That’s why she decides to do whatever to arrive to her best friend’s wedding on time. While she was moving to the wedding Naomi calls her to tell her to come back to her house because she doesn’t want people with such low punctuation in her wedding. Lacie continuous on her way and arrives to the wedding. Everyone is surprised by her appearance because she is dirty and seems to be crazy, but she wants to do the speech and kick the girl that was in her place. Naomi was shocked with the behaviour of her friend. Finally, Lacie couldn’t do anything and  the security guard arrested her.

I find this chapter very interesting because is unpredictable and If you are all time concentrate and thinking on what is going to happen that means that is a good series. I also think that the message of this chapter should be given to everybody because is important to forget about the qualification and do whatever to achieve what you want, like Lucie does.

I don’t have any negative point because I think that it shows a possible reality of the world in the future. And unless is a little bit exaggerated it is a good way to show what is happening in the society.

I absolutely recommend this chapter of Black Mirror because is only 63 minutes and it is a good entertainment. If I hadn’t seen this chapter, I wouldn’t have known the impact of technology, and that is the reason why everybody should see it.
